Holy shit... a new entry! Not cause I have anything I want to post, but mainly since I'm tired of looking at the April calendar. Anyway, I accidentally "upgraded" the account... now there are ads. I personally can't see them due to my uber ad blocking settings, but to everyone who can, I apologize. Also, while looking at the page in IE, to see just how obtrusive the ads actually are, I noticed that IE doesn't properly display the transparency of .png's. Yet another way in which IE fails. Now, I'm not saying that Firefox is better... oh wait, yes I am.

Well, in honor of FESS's two year birthday, anniversary, whatever you choose to call it, I've recorded a little Fire Emblem remix. Enjoy.

For the Emblem - A straightforward and simple piano arrangement of the main Fire Emblem theme.

I HAD recorded a second much jazzier version, which sounded quite nice on a real piano, but damn hollow and tinny on my keyboard (which I'm forced to use if/when I want to record something). No matter how many times I recorded it, it just sounded a bit too "off"... oh well. The moral of the story is... uh... SOMEONE BUY ME A REAL PIANO FOR MY APARTMENT!

Anyone who's been over at FESS today has witnessed the craziness and has realized that we FESS staff have fully embraced April Fools' Day. However, I'd just like to announce that as of tomorrow I'm resigning my FESS modship and leaving FESS. It has nothing to do with the April Fools' Day based shenanigans, which is all in fun after all, it's just time for me to move on. I'll consider this day of crazy fun my last hurrah at FESS. I'm trying to make a concerted effort to become more active in my life and spend less time on the internet and playing video games. Time for me to start acting my age.

I'll be making an official resignation and goodbye thread once April Fools' Day is over. Till then, I'd like to thank all the great people at FESS, the staff, everyone. It's been fun, I'll miss you guys. Thanks.

By the way, this is a huge hoax. Feel free to hate me now. Happy April Fool's Day!

That's right Bill Simmons, the Sports Guy, wrote about Steven Seagal's Hard to Kill, (from which I've been quoting profusely lately) in his column, complete with my favorite HtK quote (though, *gasp* Simmons' quote is slightly wrong).

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/blog/index?entryDate=20060307&name=simmons

End transmission.

At times you can seem a little standoffish, which sends guys the signal that you're not interested—or just antisocial. Make an effort to be friendlier and open yourself up to new people and new experiences.

Wow, I'm such a cold bitch.

And yay! Indeed, over the last week I've watched seasons 1-4 in their entirety. A few thoughts:

I find I'm still capable of child-like character awe. I didn't think I was anymore, but while I was watching, I was constantly thinking "Damn, Jack Bauer is awesome."

The Bush administration must have lobbied for this show, to bolster public support for the sanctioned use of torture.

Yes, I know it's a TV show, but it would be a scary thought to imagine that the US teeters on the brink of total annihilation quite so frequently.

Every time I hear the word "nucular", I die a little inside.
